I base what I do on people's actions. If someone has done pretty bad stuff in the past but has really worked hard to fix things and made a lot of progress then I don't think they ought to be in the hole of bad ally forever.

I think anyone can change philosophically. I mean emotionally, it's another story. I'll probably never trust Renee again, even if she proved herself ten thousand times over and wanted to be friends. And obviously I will never trust (and probably never will be able to avoid having a serious anxiety attack around) my ex who raped and abused me, no matter how much they've improved.

But unless the betrayal is very personal and violent, I'm usually pretty good about not deciding that someone is a lost cause. And Helen hasn't hurt me personally. Just made me irritated and confused. So she could very well be a brill ally at some point in the future.
